Skywatch New Year

We walked home from the New Year party under a crisp moon and a cold, clear sky, surely a great start to 2016. No street lights in our village and apart from the group of neighbours with whom we had been celebrating most people seemed to be in bed.

Are you ready?

The tree is in the dining room, we don't decorate it until Christmas Eve but other decorations are now in place. A selection of food was delivered in the late afternoon, ordered from the fabulous Booth's catalogue and they sent me a present as well, a rather fine canvas bag (to advertise their company whenever I go shopping!) What a nice gesture and the food looks absolutely delicious.
Family arrive around midday tomorrow, unless the traffic slows them down. I'm NEARLY ready.
There will be no snow this year but lots of chocolate. What's not to like!

Friday Christmas Market Skywatch

The lights are on in town and the atmosphere is very festive.
Wooden Christmas stalls have been set out around the Abbey, more appear each year, and they bring  crowds of people to look and to shop.
